Since being incorporated, on October 1, 1968 PWSD#1 of Stone County has seen a lot of changes. The water office is governed by a local board. Said board members reside within the subdistrict they represent. All board member terms are 3 years in length and are on a *voluntary* basis. The district has 2 full-time employees only.
